CAMBAC is a Community Interest Company that represents businesses in a multi-agency approach aimed at reducing the impact of business related crime in the city of Cambridge.
CAMBAC works in partnership with local authorities such as Cambridgehsire Police, Cambridgeshire County Council, Cambridge City Council, East of England Ambulance Service and the NHS. Other partners include Cambridge Business Improvement District (BID), Street Pastors, and Radio Technology Group.
Acting as a liaison between member businesses and the local authorties, CAMBAC facilitates an information sharing network to both prevent crime and also react to incidents in the city. This includes a network of radios used by the venues, security teams, CCTV and the police.
CAMBAC also controls a civil exclusion list, imposing bans on individuals who commit offences in the city and in the member venues. Offences include alcohol related crime and disorder in our licensed venues through to shoplifitng and fraud offences witin the retail sector.
